Hope To See You On the Road

“Let us step into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.”

J.K. Rowling

We have officially started the tour!! We headed out about 9:30AM, which was a bit later than what we wanted, but we just had to say our goodbyes.

Anyway, we rode 37 miles today. We decided this morning that we wanted to take it easy to Richmond, KY, so we could spend some time with friends before we really trek out on our adventure. The rolling hills of Kentucky are no joke! It was beautiful this morning/afternoon riding along the countryside. I believe everyone should see that side of Kentucky ๐Ÿ™‚

We’re currently getting ready for dinner/bed. I’m killing us with carbs. This trip is truly going to test us. Big tests like our relationship, to little tests like what food to buy. I wish I had more to say… Since we haven’t left Kentucky yet there isn’t much.

Also, all our photos will post on the photo stream page instead of on these posts. It’s a lot easier to load and post everything that way because we’re using our phones for all this.

Thanks for following, Everyone!

  1. Eric, when my father and brother did a cross country bike trip, they often found a church and asked if they could stay in the back/side yard. Often times the minister would let them wash up in the minister’s home, etc. Just an idea for places to stay the night. I don’t think they were ever turned down.

If going through Arkansas (Little Rock) or Arizona (Mesa) I have relatives you can contact for a place to stay.
    Good luck

    1. Mary,
Thank you for the amazing advice. I have heard about asking to stay in church yards, and the hospitality shown. Michelle and I will definitely be willing to ask anyone for a side yard to stay in if we need it. We’re unfortunately not going through either of those states, but if we were, thank you so much for lending out a hand. We hope our friends and other family members will be the same with helping out during the ride.
